For my 3D art class, we had to create a clay sculpture that could function as a "home" for an object. For my "object," I chose natural living moss. I built an organically-shaped clay sculpture with hills and valleys on which the moss could grow and an arch to create shade to keep the moss from experiencing too much sun. The valleys also function as a place for water to collect to help the moss survive. After firing, I painted the piece with natural colors to mimic natural textures and mud.
